Monolithic Crystal Fiber Probes
Fluorescence-lifetime temperature sensors have proven themselves to be highly reliable devices. The attachment of the phosphor to the lead fiber, however, has been a challenge. MMI is the exclusive licensee of a patent which calls for the fabrication of the probe by growing the phosphor directly on a crystalline lead fiber. This approach yields a robust probe with extremely low thermal mass.
